Nice details and travelogue, Michael. However, when I'm in Bodie, I felt the complete opposite. I sensed complete peace and awe for the silent beauty all around me. It is interesting how two photographers interpret the same place differently based on individual vision: http://www.pbase.com/zeroscan/bodie2

Michael:
These are stunning images. I hope you create a series of fine art prints with them and take them on the road. I am constantly impressed with the level of talent displayed in these forums. You make a mark with these. I don't know what your full-time job is; but I know what it should be.

What can I say Michael except WOW. The Stranded in Time and Collasp Photo are awsome. Keep up the post I always enjoyed seeing your photos.

BTW did you try out the Manfroto arm bracket for your flash?

Cheers,

Marc B

All I say is: very very very nice. There is not even a week image in the series. Thank you for sharing and Bodie seems to be one of the must shoot locations.

Wow, awesome series showing the character of this ghost town. It is hard to pick a favorite one, all are really good. Especially I love your through the window shots, very mysterious and the window cross works very good with the church in den bg. Well done. 'Twisted' has an excellent composition with the toppled down fence at the bottom of the picture leading you in a wonderful smooth, dynamic twist into the shot to the main object. Great work!

Dieter

Thanks adom & Dieter. I wasn't expecting many people to like the "through the window" shot but I really like it myself and am glad you like it too.

outstanding series! great textures, lighting, composition, duotones/grayscale, WOW factor. And an emotional impact on you and the area. You're a great writer as well. Love the photos, keep up the great work.

Thanks Amercko & Brian.

Yeah, did a lot of different types of techniques on this series...seems to work well on some of them. Still got lots to learn though.

Absolutely inspiring photography Tony!!

You have successfully conveyed the emotional impact through these photos.

I'm not Tony. I'm Michael Soo...I think you saw the quote from my signature which is taken from Tony Benn, some British guy.

Thanks KapHn8d, dejavu & Roger Whitehead.
