Those "CPS reps" in Canada normally know squat. Even if they have overheard something in their office hallways, or at the watercooler, they are afraid to talk about it to the outsiders.
(A couple of years ago I spoke to one of them about their schedule of getting their own, i.e., CPS loaner copy of 600 II......she honestly had no clue when they might receive it.)
The most dependable info source for upcoming deliveries are Canon Canada's retail order clerks. They receive orders from the dealers, and they place equipment requisitions with Canon Japan, and they track schedules and updates on those deliveries. However, unless you are an authorized dealer, you will not be able to contact those clerks. Therefore, the next best thing is to seek delivery info from your authorized dealer if they happen to have a good working relationship with those Canon's clerks. The major dealers (e.g., Camera Canada, Vistek, Henry's...) normally do, and they could get the latest dependable update on 1DXII deliveries from the horse's mouth, if they could be bothered to call their Canon contact about it.
What I am describing here is not some sort of speculative forum bull$hit, but the info channel which has worked rather well for me in the past.
Nothing like real world experience.
Happily I've pre-ordered 2/14 but have no serious need until November
Maybe by then I can figure out how to better use my 1Div.

With prototypes still in the hands of select photographers I can't believe we will see it any time soon. I'm betting we won't see the first production bodies until mid-July. And those will go to photographers with Olympic credentials.

I don't think Canon wants to revisit the 1D3 fiasco so I would assume they are doing their best to lock down everything as tight as possible before release. Their only real deadline would be making sure they have bodies in the hands of pro's ahead of the Olympics. Doubt they would want to miss that event.
Seems to me Nikon is under a little more pressure with the D5 as they have had more body related issues crop up lately.
The D500 delay is enough to affect Nikon's bottom line.
Nobody wants to miss production schedules unless there is good reason.

When do you guys think 1dxii will be delivered if ordered tonight? The shipping starts on 04/25.
I would think it all depends where are you buying it from. B&H, Amazon etc. most likely have long waiting list already and if the first shipment from Canon doesn't fulfill all preorders then you may wait a while. The safest would be to find a store that doesn't have to many preorders yet.
If there will be no last minute problems with the final production model, we shouldn't wait to long for preorders being fulfilled.
I wonder if anyone knows how many preorders BH, Adorama etc. already have?

Well, I contacted B&H and they said that there is no estimated availability of 1dxii, as they are not exactly sure how many preorders were placed.
Well, well, well.... It seems that a few lucky ones got their EOS-1D X Mark II early. At least you can enjoy the look of the box (if that is your thing) while you wait it out!
A couple of high profiled photographers were I live also got an early gift.
Looks like canon have been in a hurry to give some select photographers a body before everyone else, most likely to create a hype and bring out quick examples and real world results to compete with what nikon are doing.
