Is there somebody out there who heard when the new D XII hit the market.
Here in Europe a dealer said, they'll arrive next week!
I'm curious if someone knows more. Is the first batch on his way?

Not a chance. There has been some talk about production-level cameras coming out soon, but I'm sure that they are only for further testing amongst a select few to make sure everything is working okay. The cameras out now are only pre-production. Canon are doing their due diligence although the camera could very well be ready for shipping.
When Canon says for example the release is for the 15 April store's always get the items 2 week before the date announced , as soon the store's get's it they start to sell them , Canon give's a later date just in case of problem occur for the shipping....
It is not like Nikon that they very often fall behind schedule

everywhere I have seen here in US is April 25. I wish it could get my hands on it sooner!
Indeed Canon said release date would be in april, but when I preordered the markII, my dealer said: the first serie will come in half march in Europe.
thats why I sold 1 of my 2 1D X immediately.
so hope he had the good information or
I very much doubt it to be honest. Although I must say that last year, I was one of the first (in the Netherlands and possibly Europe) to get my hands on the new 35 which was released a bit earlier. Keep us posted when you have one in your hands
Since much of Netherlands is below sea level, I'd expect them to be the first to get 1DXII copies in Europe because shipping trucks get there real fast because it's down hill all the way.

You must have flown into the country, that is why. Try DRIVING IN, but make sure your rental car has fresh brake pads installed before you cross the border.
Wrong! Which border? You driving from the airport, no border to see!
into the country [ the Netherlands, I mean!] its going up!
so PetKal, visit us and be my guest!
Your Canadian mind will be refresh here, without any brake pads installed
Yes it is really dangerous here. If you come in by ship, swim ashore and cross the dunes you will drop to the lowest point within a half hour roll errr... drive. You'll find yourself at about 22 feet below sea level. Therefore, the best place to store our camera gear is in the attic, in the front section of our life boats.
Gust and Konijnberg, I've heard some wonderful accounts of your fine country.
Indeed, whatever goes down has to eventually come up again.
Although Gust has confused me about your airport location........it must be at the lowest point below sea level therefore all roads out of it climb up. What happens when the dykes breach and the airport becomes flooded ? Only hydro-planes are allowed to land and take off ? At any rate, I do not see that as a big problem, for example the citizens of Venice have managed to live in a continuously flooded place for centuries.
