This is from a couple of weeks ago, I was on my way up to the PNW to meet a bunch of friends and from the timing it looked like Thors Well would work well on my drive up. As it was, I had near perfect tide levels (high) for both sunset and the following sunrise. To go along with that was some super cloud conditions so that I got some fantastic color at both sunset and sunrise, I was excited to say the least.
Now this photo was as the sun was getting lower and while there were no intense colors, the golden light coming from it was very appealing. I was going back and forth shooting some slow shutter speeds and then some fast shutter speeds as both were creating some cool looks. This one really appealed to me as the shape of the wave splash ended up looking like a rose blossom.
This was certainly a fitting beginning to a wonderful week of shooting with a great group of friends.
That's a cool take on Thor's well, nice to see something different from there. The bright sky on the left is pulling my eye away from the 'blossom' though. A square or portrait crop might work well here, it would have the added benefit of bringing the viewer closer to all the beautifully lit detail in the erupting water.
I didnt realize you were into flower photography
Love it! is there any place to see it bigger?
The only one minor remark: i would try to brighten the whole explosion and the green base of the "Rose" in particular, to show that beautiful sea color...
