That's a cool take on Thor's well, nice to see something different from there. The bright sky on the left is pulling my eye away from the 'blossom' though. A square or portrait crop might work well here, it would have the added benefit of bringing the viewer closer to all the beautifully lit detail in the erupting water.
Heron
Hi Heron,
Thanks so much for those idea's, I actually did some different crops with that same thought in mind, in the end I preferred this one though. Glad you liked it.

Thanks Ute, I am glad you liked it!
And I agree with you, it was nice that most of the people were really nice. I will have to have a discussion with Carlo later to help him work on his being nicer...
Hi Jim...There are many images of this location, but I have not seen it shot like this. I enjoy shots of iconic locations that look different than the rest and, for me, you have achieved this and come up with a wonderful composition. And the rose formation in the spout is hard to miss! Nicely done.
Jon
(BTW...I have only driven by this location once, at low tide...pretty dull and not so photogenic as your capture!)

Thanks Jon! I am glad you liked this. It was really nice to come up with something different. Of all the wave splashes I caught, this was the only one that shaped that way, even as I show this one I thought it was going to be special, I am glad it turned out as cool as I thought it was when I shot it.
Yeah, I have been by there quite a few times, and the tide was never the right height. On this occasion I was on my way to meet up with some friends in the Olympic Peninsula and I purposed to finally capture Thors Well doing its thing. So I check the tide charts and made sure I was there for it at high tide. What turned out as a double blessing was I stayed over night there and caught it a high tide at sunrise also and had some super cool sunrise colors. I have one I will have to post later with a slower shutter speed where literally the water was shooting out through the well at an angle like it was a rocket taking off. Another cool (and wet) moment!
Really cool vision and execution at Thor's Well Jim.
Your composition works great for me as I love the golden light from the clouds connecting to the golden light in the Rose Blossom. Nice work.
