I prefer the 2nd image. Have you used GND OR blending? It looks like a hard stop filter.

Thx for the response. No
GND or other filter on the lens. This may have been a 2 image focus stack, but nothing else unusual.

Hi Peka, there are some serious Jpeg artefacts going on in your images above. A bit smaller and higher quality/ lower compression might maybe better do justice to this fine lens.

This is not the least bit the way I usually think about the Loxia 50 at all. I was traveling, with the Loxia 50 as my only 50. Then we went out at night. At f2 I knew the bokeh would stay round, unlike the way this would have rendered stopped down even a little.
