p.1 #1A7RII Voigtlander 15/4.5 and 21/4 wide angle lenses
I have owned both the Voigtlander Super Heliar 15mm f/4.5 Ver II and the Voigtlander Color Skopar 21mm f/4 Leica mount lenses since my first NEX 5N. This is my history.
Nex 5N -excellent
Nex 6 - excellent
Nex 7 - fair
A7S - poor
A7R - worse than poor (aurora borealis)
A7R with Kolari Modification - I didn't think it could get worse but it did!
Surprise!
A7RII - excellent
These lenses were on my "must sell" shelf. I had read so much negative information regarding Leica wide angle lenses on the A7RII that I was not even going to put them on the camera but about midnight last night I put one on and looked at a white computer screen fully expecting the northern light show but nothing but vignetting appeared.
I got up this morning and took a couple of shots off the front deck, adjusted the vignetting in Lightroom and decided these lenses were welcomed back into the land of the living.

Dale, thank you for sharing. I just want to clarify that you are talking about the corner color cast (or color vignetting) and not the smearing right? I assume the CV 21/4 would smear quite readily at f/4 and even at f/8

The short answer is, "I don't know." the vignetting was the killing factor for me. It was beyond the range of post processing and external applications. This is no attempt to perform a lens test beyond Pass/Fail for usability. The depth of field is so deep on these wide angles that I never bothered even attempting a wide-open shot since they are both virtually point and shoot at 5.6 and above with everything in focus. If I get a chance, I may take a look at the smearing issue out of curiosity. The sample shots were taken at f/11. The lenses both range to f/22

This confirms BSI structure sensor from A7Rii collects deeper angle lights than any FSI structure sensor from all the lenses that available on the market. Darn, MTF lenses reviewer should do their review again. This will enhance all f1.4 and faster lenses with colors that we don't see before. Exciting time for fast lenses shooter.

I haven't directly compared them yet, but tentatively, the CV12mm f/5.6 has less vignetting on the A7rII than it does on my original A7. Really, really excited about that. Need to confirm it though.

I've tested my CV 35mm f2.5 lens - which while not having much of a corner smear, had a very strong color cast on A7R. It was all gone on A7R2 - the lens was fantastic to use - especially with the IBIS. Never got a chance to test my CV15 before returning the camera, but I am pleasantly surprised at how well it it would have performed.

That's awesome to hear. I love that little lens, but sold it because it's crazy smear issues with the μ43 sensor stack.

I have tried a colleague's 15mm(V2)on my A7R and I can see greenish corners at around f5.6 or even f8?( can't remember ). if I'm going to buy one I think I would pay more (and accept the bulkier package)for the V3 since I'd use UWA in building interiors where I would use faster apertures.

I see green corners in the OP's shot (on A7RII) as well, at least in the bottom of the image. It's a bit difficult to judge from a scene like this but I'm pretty sure the corner colors are off. The sky looks fine so probably the color cast is less than on some other Sony cameras.

Well even on my A7 the corners and edges never get sharp on a distant shot with the 21/4 and 35/2.5, at any aperture! Corner colour shifts are one thing, and I'm using the Lens Correction app to correct them with some lenses, but even if the coloured corners are cleared up, if they ain't sharp....

Miles better than on my A7r, I don't mind some vignetting, but excessive color shift will kill the lens for me, I had nothing but issues trying to get a useful profile with my vII, which will be going up for sale now that I've used the vIII enough.

Thanks for the info ebookman.
Do you by any chance have a Voigtlander 21mm 1.8 to test with the A7r II? I once purchased this lens with the A7r but could not deal with the purple color cast and smearing on the edges, so I returned it.

I just did a quick and dirty test of the 21/4VM, 15/4.5-II, and my 15/4.5-III for sharpness and ghosting/flare on my A7RII. I will report back later on today. At first glance the -III of the 15mm is clearly superior to the -II for flare/ghosting and the 21/4VM did better than I thought it would.
