All I can say is, "Wow"! Love the color, detail, and sharpness! The D500 and 200-500 were obviously made for each other. What an amazing combo in the hands of an excellent photographer!

Question for anyone: Where can I get the metadata to show ALL of an image's info? Specifically I want to know if VR was on or off. It is not in PS CC metadata, nor in Apple Finder metadata.
So what metadata source shows all an image's info?
Now, regarding the 200-500:
There is so much I like about this lens. I also have owned the 80-400 AFS for about 3 years now. And yes, I do like it. But admittedly, before this 200-500 lens, I was envious of the Canon 100-400 II (Series 2). Not anymore. Nope.
This thread shows so many outstanding and very sharp images. I am glad for all of you who enjoy this lens. This 200-500 allows many of us (like me to get into the super tele realm before we are too old to carry the darned thing. And this one, makes it easier for me to carry a super tele too.....now. That said, the 600 f4 FL is in my future. Oh yes. Nikon Tokyo.......you are doing a good job! Check out Lenscore for comparisons

The nearly universal tool for getting detailed exif information is Phil Harvey's ExifTool that you can find at http://www.sno.phy.queensu.ca/~phil/exiftool/ . I use it with some plugins (from Rob Cole and Jeff Friedl) with lightroom, and also with a program called ExifGUI in windows for a graphical interface. You can a lot more info on Phil's website.
