I just picked up my second copy of this lens. My first lens I had to send in due to a malfunctioning aperture control (I would get an error message after firing any shot stopped down past f/5.6). I could never get the same results from the lens after repair so I got rid of it. I'm pleased with my new copy.

Been playing on and off with mine for a few months now and still don't seem to get the pin sharp pix that some of you guys are getting.

Usually keep it on my D500 and even trying different fine tune settings, I'm still not getting there quite.

But I'll keep trying.

Currently in the French Alps

And found a butterfly hiding in the grass .... let's see what we get

Also a group of really healthy looking horses in the distance, cropped to about 50%

Hey Stokesey - often we read about those that use this lens with VR on at slower speeds, some recommending it. I use it at 1000th and above, especially when racked out to 500ish. Your 200th shutter speed is slow and may be the concern, crank it up.

I will take another look at my technique ..... I've got so use to using manual lenses at shorter lengths ... tend to forget the length at 500 ....

A couple here of closer detail of the Canadian WWI Memorial on the Vimy Ridge, France

Used wide angle to get the whole memorial in shot, but thought the detail at the top looked interesting so shot closer with longer.

King Parrot in Mount Beauty, Victoria. The intense red of this bird's head is difficult to reproduce accurately (tends to overexpose the red channel), but the D750 does a fairly good job IMHO...
