Just got my 200-500mm lens yesterday evening and was only able to get out in my backyard early today for a few shots, so far with just a very few shots with this lens, I'm very impressed.

My young male is almost done his molt into full adult plumage. I can still see a few pin feathers coming out in his gorget. I now have 3 males and 1 female coming to the feeders but this male keeps the others away most of the time.

A Tale of Two Tails.... every year about 35,000 whales pass by our coastline here in Terrigal, NSW. This Humpback calf and mother were about 200 meters off shore, so a pretty heavy crop. Notice the calf swimming on its back, with its white underbelly just under the water as its parent swims alongside...
