We've waited a long time for this. At least this year...
It's a mid afternoon shot true, which are not my favorites... But sometimes, opportunities are fleeting. Ten frames later, conditions were never the same. So, I had to skip the bald eagle and attempt this.
Really nice! Love the interaction of cloud and rock and the light and dark ridges in the foreground add just enough interest there to balance the drama above.
Superbly done, Craig! I just wish the scene is tiny bit wider to have more comfortable feeling. It is kind of pounding too hard. It also looks that the sky and the rest seem to be not connected but detached as if two different scenes superposed together. That is my opinion and feeling. Nonetheless, I like the mood and color rendering. Your collection of wonderful images.. I have been enjoying a lot. I admire your ingenuity and creativity! Perhaps one or two photographs of yours I would like to hang in my house!
Happy shooting and a great year 2015 for you!!
Cheers!
Wow, stunning shot. It however looks a bit flat on my monitor (calibrated) but that is an easy fix since the data is obviously in the file to brighten the highlights and midtones a bit.
