Wonderful images; love the organismal AND geographic diversity.
My second quarter contribution is from April. Cabin Lake in central Oregon. These guys (and girls) use their bills to extract seeds from pine cones, but the crossing is due to nature rather than nurture.

Here is my favorite from the second quarter. April of 2014. One of 2 Great Horned Owlets that fledged at nearby park earlier this year. This is Hopper.
I had four standouts for me this first quarter. A pronghorn in great light, a sand hill crane from Fruitgrower's Reservoir near Cedaredge Colorado (never even seen one of those before), a ferruginous hawk, or this beaver. I'm picking the beaver because it's such an odd picture and pose.
Here's my contribution for the second quarter. If burrowing owls are on any of your bucket lists, Cape Coral, Florida is the place to go. That's where I found this little one in April.
