Well informed dog is reading the papers. (I wish I didn't cut the piece of the front paw from the frame).
I know the feeling. Have the same feeling here but Buddy rolling over his killed soccer ball was so funny I had to post. All the little things we find post processing make us better in the end.

I know that look in the last Bruce photo. As the years pass, be careful he doesn't start to favor The Call of the Couch over The Call of the Wild.
Hahaha. That was after a 10km hike and lots of swimming. He's still a 10 month old puppy - I bet it will be a while before he slows down. Am bulldog / husky / border collie = not exactly a lazy mix.
Yes the lifespan of a dog is waaaay to short.
Seen very nasty things througout my life in the military on missions and can cope with those memories albeit not entirely, but I'm allways devastated when one of the boys die or is put asleep.
Thern, loud and clear on " I'm allways devastated when one of the boys die or is put asleep." The only comparable pain as to its longevity and acuity is that of the loss of one's child.
I was planning to photograph Mount Baker today - but weather totally did not cooperate. Still - made it to the Skyline Divide ridge... and photographed the puppy instead.
