OK, seems that you were right. He did go there. He just tried to read some patents and judge rumors himself and tacked a 100% on it out of hope (but left off CR rating as an excuse I guess) and it appears it was likely all wrong.
If this new set proves true, he probably won't lose too many readers since this new set is well ahead of time. If it is wrong too though I think his site will have fallen to useless in terms of rumors.

CR guy has already "revised" the rumor, so who knows whether any of it is real:

Radio triggering with the popup flash may have been a mistake.
Not sure about the sensor.
Compatible with f/8 lenses at the center, and maybe more points.
It's clear that CR guy is just a BS artist who posts whatever nonsense he happened to receive that day from some other BS artist. And he's making money from it all!

I just snicker and watch y'll clammier for this phantom Canon shooter, it's this, it's that, a 1DX body for under 2K, and on n on. The 7D is useless except for reach limited imaging, bodies in general never perfect thus Canon is doomed to dust, non-existence.

yeah I have to say it now looks like that is the case
when the guy in England ran the rumors they something had some really solid info on that site, sometimes even a year or two ahead and even CR had some info for a while, but now yeah it seems like....
a revision to the CR revision and CW adds even yet another revision to those revisions just now
