Brian It's Dave. I'm not going to lie, I have a D810 but still love my D700 and D3. Merry Christmas.
Damn...sorry...Dave...got no idea then when Mike came from,,,i'll have to fix my credit to you in the d850 thread!
When i bought the d850..i first walked into Henry's cameras...came close, they would of taken the d3s on trade towards a d500 but i just couldn't do it, 2 days later i found the d850, thought later i would sell both the d3s and d800...now...don't think i'll be doing that either
Still love to see these D700 pics. I had this camera before and the D700 was so forgiving towards lenses, different situations, ... Only experienced the same with the D4s and now the D5 as well.
Pictures here proof the D700 can still hold among the newer cameras (if I just wasn't such a gearhead )
Was feeling cabin fever after all the time in the house from the wicked cold snap, so busted out some old lenses and went wandering around the museum again.
Guess what? I have added a Nikon d700 with 28mm f1,8g to my kit to use for our family pictures. I´m loving it! As you say, the AF system is a different league from Canon 5d (classic). I suppose if I had started out with Nikon years ago I would be still using the D700 professionally today...It´s an extremely capable body for very little money! And I don´t really need much more from my bodies.
