Gerry, I recently compared the NAiS 28/2.8 with the Color Skopar 28/2.8, and if my copies were representative, I'd go for the Nikon for FF. (Color Skopar fine for crop sensor). Sold the Color Skopar.
The problem was poor corners that never sharpened and a lot of colour fringing.
[EDIT: Looking at my files I see that I first compared the CV to Nikon K 28/3.5, then, after selling the CV, I compared the NK 28/3.5 to the NAiS 28/2.8,(NaiS better than NK, but keeping NK for Infared), so I don't have direct comparisons of the CV with the NAiS]
Love my 40mm and 28mm SL II lenses. Have the 58mm and 90mm on the way. Can't wait to see the results of the 90mm, not many samples online but from what I have seen it is very similar to the 40mm in it's rendering.
Geoff, really nice work. I've had my CV 20, 40, and 90 SL-II lenses pretty much since they came out. Perfect small kit for me when I'm in a manual focus mood. I use them on a Sony A7 now, as I can hit focus much more easily than on my D600 where my green dot was hit or miss, and the viewfinder isn't good enough. Recently my Sony 16-35 has supplanted the 20/40 combo to a degree, but you've inspired me to bust them out again
Current version 35/1.7 M-mount on M240. I like the lens a lot. It is sharp wide open, pretty decent flatness of field, very good stopped down (though have seen it's not as good on unmodded Sony a7 series cameras)

Hi Geoff, I am looking to get a 58 1.4, I have seen two different lenses, which one is the latest version? One with thicker focus ring.
The one with the metal focus ring is the newest version. The ribbed rubber is the older.
Most of these were stopped down a fair amount in the f/8-11 range, except for the 4th and 5th, which were probably f/2ish. Sorry if some are a bit crunchy looking. Some also x-posted in the Leica image thread.
