This very little spring arrival (I could easily hold him in the palm of my hand) lives under a hedge in front of my house. We’ve been getting used to each other over the past couple of days, but this is as close as I can get so far.

Thank you Evan!
I have nothing much to post due to bad, rainy weather and ongoing hockey playoffs, but here is one in reply to the spring bunny.
And when the roses are half-bud soft flowers
And lovely ether king of flies has come
It was a fleeting visit, all too brief
In three short minutes, " target="_blank" rel="nofollow">he had been and gone...

On Thursday I tested Lux-r 80, Cron-M 90 and Zeiss MP 100 with test charts at various apertures. Zeiss just killed the two other lenses, especially WO across the frame.
Leica Summilux–M 50 ASPH may be the very exception, but I hope Gary Clennan will provide more details on this topic very, very soon.
Well, horses for courses as they say. I had a Zeiss 100 MP, and never found a way to love that lens, good though it was, so I Iet it go and didn't especially miss it. I moved on and have a 'Cron 75 AA, and was consistently wowed by it, if not in love with it. Then I tried a 'Lux 80, and it was like coming home. I am getting it this week, and will post on this thread. This is all your fault!

I take the blame as long as you keep posting images with your new lens
Oh, I should add that the 100MP/Cron-M 90 and Lux-R 80 tests were with a resolution test chart. In real life the worst measuring are usually is the most pleasing. Case in point with Summilux-R 80, though it's surprisingly good when stopped down at mid-far distances.

You know Jack, just like Philber above, I have you to blame for at least two of my recent purchases!! The CV 50 1.5 AND my newly acquired Leica R 80!!!
Here are a few shots from the R80 on my A7...I have lots of playing to do with this lens! Not even as close to being as sharp as my Contax Planar 100( Which, BTW, Philber, I like WAY more than the 100MP), but I in fact don't want it to be! It has tons of character that I haven't begun to touch...
But I'll try with a few!

Shot @ f2...check out the leaves in the foreground left...I think the wind was blowing..

Congrats Gregg!
Lux-R 80 is a superb lens, and not only for portraits but also stopped down at mid-far distance.
Character wise it's probably right there at the top of Leica- R lenses. I recall reading that Lux-R 80 is Thorsten Overgaard's favorite R glass.
Looking forward to see more of your shots with it (and with Nokton 50/1.5 ASPH, which is another very impressive lens)

Great shots Jack!!!
Greg, congratulations on a great lens. Very nice
Philippe, I don't see the 28 Elmarit VII R, but the 28 Elmarit VIII M, which is a Mandler design, just before the apsherical designs arrived. You right, that the 28 Elmarit VII R is not one of Mandler's

Some more with the R80. I won't be taking too many portraits, 'cause I don't want to more everyone with more pics of my kids!! But, I'll be taking it to work at least through the week. It's very heavy on the A7...what a SOLID piece of glass!! Hence, I have a grip arriving for the A7, which will accommodate my shooting my R80 and R50 Lux's!!

This one cross-posted from A7 thread. Quite a bit of 3D in this one!

Joakim, the 80Lux isn't on that list. Neither are the first versions of the R50Lux. I'm pretty sure the 80 is a Mandler design and IIRC the 50 Luxes are that as well (maybe with the exception of the last E60 version - shame on me, I have owned that lens but can't say for sure now a couple of years later).
EDIT: I may very well be wrong about the 50mm lenses. Checking another source didn't list them either. It would be nice to have a complete and correct list available here as a reference for this thread.
