Breaking news. I just got email from Adorama saying that they have shipped my Canon-mount 150-600. It'll be here Tuesday. Maybe the lines have started back up again. Or maybe we just don't know what's been going on. In any case, it's coming. I'm *hoping* the AF issue is fixed (but I'm not holding my breath). As for the mythical 100-400 Mk II, I bet it'll be pretty expensive if it actually appears. Maybe $2500?

When did you place your order? I preordered April 10th from both Adorama and B&H, but haven't heard anything. I'm hoping that it arrives by mid-June so that I can take it to Yellowstone, but given the sluggish shipments I doubt that will happen.
Edit: In an earlier post kevinsullivan said he placed his order in mid-February.
I received mine yesterday from B&H. Ordered it about 6 weeks ago. Canon copy. In spite of all the fire and brimstone hurled at this lens, I was told that B&H is setting on over 500 back orders. I bugged them a bit about it, but it looks like the demand is overwhelming. Auto focus using AI servo on my MK3 is working fine, I wish it were just a bit faster. To this poor man, this lens opens a whole new dimension in my limited adventure into bird photography.
If anyone is still looking for a Tamron 150-600 I may be selling or trading mine. Not advertising, just giving anyone who's desperate to acquire one a second option.

I would be happy to pay 2500 if they got it [ 100-400 ] to 2.8 . But that would kill the 200-400 sales , so don't count on it .
100-400 @ 2.8 +2 X III on the 2 7D = 400 X 2 X1.6 = 1280

Before it "killed" the sales of the 200-400, it would break your budget and your back. The current 400/2.8 prime is $10k and over 8 pounds, so how would an f/2.8 zoom covering that FL be $2,500 and comparable in weight to a slower zoom?

I've had one on order from B&H for roughly 3 weeks. I am hoping to use it for wildlife on our vacation to Alaska this summer, but and getting concerned now that it might not arrive in time.

100-400 f/2.8?? I think you might as well go out and get one of these as it would be very similar in design.....
