Encouraging to hear that the Techart comes already flocked. What lenses have you tried with it? Can you tell if any lenses have poor edge issues (ie due tot he adapter not being parallel)?
I've had a King adapter for few weeks. Here is what I've learned through reading forums, youtube and my personal experience with these.
I am using it on A7r. Every Canon lens I own autofocuses including 50 1.8 II which supposedly does not autofocus on Metabones III. Tried 17-40L, 24-105L, 50 1.8 II, 85 1.8, and 70-200 2.8L non IS on the way will be tried next week.
I went to my local Samys camera before I owned King adapter and I tried Metabones 3 with 24-105L on my A7r. It appeared to autofocus pretty fast inside the store. The sales person advised me that Metabones 3 only autofocuses with lenses that have true Ring USM. Meaning that neither 50 1.8 II and 50 1.4 which has microUSM would not autofocus on a Metabones. I have not tested either on Metabones 3 myself
I then got the King adapter (bought it on ebay). King adapter seems to me to autofocus 24-105L slower than what I remember Metabones did on the same lens with the store. Of course I am going on my memory since the best thing would be to try both together on the same body and lens at the same time, but I have no such opportunity. I almost did it with a member of FM who has Metabones but our meeting did not work out. King autofocuses slow even in great light outside on 24-105L. 17-40L seems faster.
Now this information I hope someone can figure it out once and for all. Metabones advertises its adapter as 32-bit processor inside. Some forum members believe that all the Chinese adapters use 8bit and/or 16bit processors in their adapters, thus making them slower to autofocus and cheaper to make. Of course, it is impossible to check because none of Chinese adapter makers release their specs or talk about the processor inside. In fact, someone tried to find out with RJ adapter but the company refused to answer the question.
Which may mean that someone needs to open up the adapter to check out the chip inside. I don't know if it is true or not, but I do know that Autofocusing speed with contrast AF on all mirrorless cameras largely depend on how powerful their processors are. Of course the fact that camera needs to move optics in large DSLR lenses, not designed for mirrorless makes a difference as well.
I don't want to pay $400 for Metabones adapter if it is just like my $170 King adapter. However, if it is significantly faster, even in good light, the difference might be worth twice the price of Metabones for me.
I am yet to hear from anyone who has tried both at the same time.
Now as far as image quality once AF settles it is tack sharp and exquisite. No issues there and no misfocus incidents. Either it autofocuses perfectly or none at all.
For the sake of clarity, I have not tried a Metabones with Conurus lenses, it was just listed that they are not supported in the Metabones description. I suppose it's possible they could work, but I wouldn't get my hopes up.
Also, I tried the Dot Line Adapter from B&H on my A7, it's not full frame compatible. The inner baffle is too small, blocks out the corners of the image. I'll be looking for another option.

I just tested the Canon 50/1.4 EF lens with Metabones III adapter on my A7R. I confirm, AF here does NOT work!

Let me ask a question to those who have tried Metabones or the other brands Apart from slow or non AF, are there any other issues ?.May we take for granted that the rest of features work as expected. ? - I mean automatic aperture, correct EXIF and image stabilization (for lenses with IS)

The Metabones III adapter so far works as expected for me. I only saw a tiny difference when using it with my Canon 50/1.2 lens: in Green Mode, the widest open aperture is shown as f/1.3, in the Advanced Mode of the adapter the widest aperture is correctly shown as f/1.2. In both cases the aperture is wide open when taking a photo, so practically there is no difference other than the 0.1 aperture naming difference. I didn't see someting similar in any of my other EF lenses. IS is working with my 70-200/4 IS and 100-400 IS lenses. EXIF Information is shown correctly in the photo file, too.
Hello all, I have the NEX-EOS EF Metabones III and have the NEX-EOS EF King adapter on order and will post my findings when I get it next week I hope and post my feedback for all interested.
I am hoping that the auto-focus is about the same speed but I use the A7r in MF and expect them to be 100% same fuction and don't care about the green mode in the Metabones adapter as I understand how it works.
I also know with the Canon 100 2.8 L IS macro outdoors kinda works the worse of my lenses I have and hope it works like my other Canon lenses with the King?

I am very interested in your findings, specifically, is there any difference in autofocus acquisition between Metabones and King in GOOD Light (I am aware that they all slow down in low light). So I'd appreciate if you can test with the same lens during daytime with both and let us know if you see any appreciable difference.
Re RJ's adapter on A7R
On the 100 2.8L IS Macro it seems to work only at 2.8.
If I change aperture it works for one shot then goes haywire for
the rest of shots....AF works, but IS stays on constantly without
half pressing shutter and exposure thinks the lens is at F22 or highest
so all shots are overexposed. And shown Aperture values show all (from F1.0 to F32).
Well I got my King adapter today and it damaged my 6 month old Canon 24-70 2.8 II & 16-35 2.8 II and the 70-300 4-5.6 L IS lenses as when I went to turn the Canon lens on the King adapter it was easy then got a bit tight then I stopped on all, after I had the issue with the 24-70 2.8 II I put it on the Canon 6 D and it seamed ok, but I did not try to auto focus with it yet then I tried the 2 other Canon lenses and same issue after I looked at the Canon lenses at the gold contacts they were damaged and then on the 6D would not auto focus and would lock up the 6D!
The adapter looks fine just like the Metabones but what I am thinking is either the gold pins are a bit to close to the Canon contacts or the pins are too still and don't move back to make a easy slide on and off contact. I have pictures showing the damage and I have been using these Canon lenses with the Metabones adapter for 3 weeks now and no issues and now this King adapter caused this damage! So unless the seller test this before STAY AWAY as you might go thru what I will to send to Canon and have them replace the contacts on 3 lenses and I hope the seller will pay for it. Keep you update.
So I sent a email thru ebay to the seller and told them what happened and can't send pictures yet to show them but this adapter is junk! I was able to try the Canon 100 2.8 II Macro and it's was fine and some how the other lenses should be the same as they are Canon and the distance must be really close in tolerances for the Canon body's and the Metabones adapter works great!
That is quite disturbing. I've had King adapter for several weeks now and used it wtih 24-105L, 17-40L, 50 1.8 II, 85 1.8, 70-200 F/2.8 with mounting and unmounting them many times and zero issues whatsoever. I use these lenses with 6D and A7r through the adapter.
Hi I will try my 70-200 2.8 and see if that works, maybe it's those 3 lenses that have a issue. Also please take a loupe and look at the Canon contacts and see if you see what I had happened or scratches major and let me know please...
Hi I just tried the King adapter and this time I was really slow and easy and it stopped removed the King adapter and there is a small mark not that it would affect the contacts and it works fine.
So I must have a defective King adapter and I understand that this is the latest version and is the full frame unit, I did not see any serial # so hard to see if it's a bad batch.
So a word of caution if you are thinking of getting a King adapter because of cost I would check the Canon lenses first where the gold contacts are and then barely twist the adapter on your Canon mount lens very very very easy and if you feel any resistance stop and remove the King adapter and look closely maybe a 8x lupe at the black plastic at the top of the ridge where the gold contacts are! Please see my pics.
What's odd is the new Canon 100 2.8 L Macro is fine on the Canon 6D and the Metabones very very very slow focusing and about 60% gets it focused. This lens should be manual focused.
Good news is after using a 10x power lupe I can see what happened and what was causing the Canon 6D from not auto focusing and locking up is the black plastic was covering the lens gold contacts and then the camera could not talk to the lens and after cleaning that up it works fine now, but not like it was but working fine, the 24-70 has too much damage to the first pics and it should be replaced with a new contact tray.
Metabones is 6.13 (about) mm from flange to the first row of gold pins, and the King is 6.09 mm (about) from flange to gold pins, I know it's not much but enough to cause the King pins to not push in to conform to the Canon gold contacts.
Looking at the king adapter I can see on the first gold pin the sleeve that the gold pins move in and out that sleeve is oblong like a sideways egg that's that caused the lenses black plastic to get damaged those first row of pins are to far forward and rubbing and binding when I turn the lens.
I will take a shot of that first pin showing the cause of the damage.
