p.1 #1Sony FE 28-70mm vs Zeiss FE 24-70mm Comparison
Hello!
First post here
Quick introduction: I’m an amateur photographer from Europe who recently purchased a Sony A7 with the kit lens and then the 35mm prime. I enjoy taking pictures and eating sushis. Anyway, back to topic…
So the question arose: should I get the Zeiss 24-70mm zoom lens? What improvements would it bring over the kit lens? Is that really worth 1200$?
Well, you tell me! Here are some comparison pictures, all shot with a tripod and the OSS turned off. The same position, focal length and other settings were selected on each lens and I tried to change the lenses as fast as possible between the shots.
There are 5 pairs labelled A & B, in no particular order. I’m interested to see which picture you prefer? They all have been edited in LightRoom with exactly the same settings for each pair (note that no lens correction was applied as LR5.3 has no profile for the Zeiss yet). There are no right or wrong answers, you can either try to guess the manufacturer or simply state which picture you prefer over the other (or no particular preference).
The full res pictures (6000 x 4000 px) are located here. You can post your guesses using the following:

Hi mdraege and CalBoy87!
Thanks for your answers. All the pix were replaced with the full resolution versions (6000 x 4000 px) over at flickr and their 1024px versions also included in the original post.
Maybe we'll have other answering as well?! Let's see!

I'm curious about this. Other than the #1 images the rest are pretty close to me other than color / tone.
At a glance I'd say what pleases my eyes more are 1B, 2A, 3B, 4A. 5 is a tossup, something about A is attractive although looks underexposed compared to B? B looks more clinical.

Zeiss: 1A, 2B, 3B, 4A, 5A but it's just a quick WAG based on the color cast. When I tested my two lenses, Sony had a tiny yellow tinge and Zeiss was a 'lil more blue.
It probably works out differently in Switzerland.
And yeah, you seem to have a good copy of the kit lens, too.

I base my comparison on the Zeiss micro-contrast pop. I'm happy that it does actually exist but am surprised by the quality of the kit lens in these tests. I picked 1A,2B, 3B, 4A and 5A mostly by moving back two feet from my monitor and looking for that snap. Center sharpness is also better. Please let us know soon if we are correct or not so I can take my Zeiss lens back. Thanks for the effort!

Thanks to all for your courageous guesses. I will post the answers in the next 24 hours - the suspense is almost unbearable
Out of curiosity: to those who attributed Sony/Zeiss to the pictures, do you have any preferences for one or the other? Or is it mixed feelings?
For someone who has only three posts on this forum you should be advised that your answers in the next 24 hours could threaten your very future, be careful.

My guess is that the Zeiss is:
1A
2B
3B
4B
5A
The kit lens performs very well and in image 3 I think the kit lens (A?) handles the thin branches against the sky better than the Zeiss (B?). Out of focus rendering in image 2 is much better in 2B (Zeiss?)
