I picked up the 27 pancake because I'd been wanting one for a while, but didn't want to pay $450. It's a very good lens (I reviewed it this past summer), but for $450, I thought it should have been an f/2. But at $199? That's a steal. It'll pretty much live on my X-M1 for times I want a very small package.

We were making the move from Nikon to Fuji and we waited for this crazy deal. Back around Christmas they had the deal that if you got a body you got lenses at a discount. We got an XE1 and the 18 & 35. Today we just completed our setup for now with the 14, 27, 60, 55-200. This was a crazy deal. Saved us $1000 with the XE2 we got too. It's like buying 4 lenses and getting the camera free.

They are all full frame.
Really? Its a shame to not make a couple of smaller pancakes that are APS-C only. I know this idea doesn't mesh with everyone's dreams for the platform, but if you've got great APS-C body, why not have a couple of perfectly matched (i.e. not casting a FF image circle that isn't being utilized) optics?
Light is precious... why cast it where it's not seen?

Tempting.. and I find these prices are more in line with what these lenses are really worth. I believe the deals are even better if you if you shop in Canada right now.

He meant they are all designed to the full frame of the Fuji X mount. I.e. All APS-C. The X-mount is too small to fit a full frame (135) sensor...so Fuji would need a new mount. Given FF lens sizes, I'm just fine with APS-C. nads wrote:

Too bad the XF 56mm f/1.2 R isn't in the list.
Give them a month to fulfill all the pre-orders and sell out the first batch that make it to shelves. The 23mm was discounted $100 after about 6-8 weeks of steady availability.
I was sure I was going to get the 14mm, but one of the Fuji ambassadors is claiming the 10-24mm is just as good (quite a bit larger too).

The Canadian prices seem to be about 10% higher, but at least you save the crazy shipping and brokerage charges.

Cool picked up the 27mm to round out my Fuji kit. I will say though that with Fuji frequent (and generous rebates) I am unlikely to purchase any Fuji lens or body when it first comes out. So I'll wait until the next round of rebates to pick up the 10-24, 56 and XT-1

Sony did a FF camera and their lenses are that much bigger. So it wouldn't be that bad. But I would love to see FUJI stay crop. I've always been a crop fan.

A full fame camera with a 4" x 5" sensor would be great - but I think the lenses would be too big and heavy.
I would rather see them stick with one of the miniature formats, like 16x24mm or even 24x36mm.
