Unexpected? Fujifilm has had blow out pricing on their lenses several times the past few years. There's no way I'd pay full price for a Fujifilm lens simply because they have had so many sales where it is easy to get $100,$200, etc off full price.
Fujifilm prices are way out of line and the fact that they need these big sales over and over again shows that price reductions are needed in order to move product.
I know Fuji has done sales periodically but this was the first time I'd seen the 14mm go on sale. I avoid paying full price on anything whenever possible, but I figured I'd have to buy a used copy of this lens when I was ready. I was mostly ready but I didn't want to miss out on the pricing!

Speaking of Zeiss ... are there any lenses that you would suggest would be a "pass" on Fuji's offering in favor of the Zeiss ... or any other mfr's glass for the X-mount?

Definitely not me, I want them all, except the 18mm.
I will be getting another body this year too, woo!

The 14 was on sale last summer, I know because I got one then

I'll have to make a tough decision. I was going to skip the 60 but as I hear it's sharp. I'm going to wait until I get te XT-1 though, it's silly to buy a ton of glass without a body.
Though I might just get a X-M1 and get the 27 for the wife.
I went ahead and ordered the 23/27/60 lenses to ensure I got the color I wanted (black) and that I wouldn't miss out on the rebate (or be stuck waiting on back-order...) I will be pre-ordering the X-T1 in the next week or two, but in the meantime I've ordered an X-E1 kit that I can sell, (if desired) with a better recoup meant of funds over the X-M1 kit which I also considered... But, I'm hoping my fiancée will like it enough that I don't have to sell it when the X-T1 comes in.

Seriously what is it with everyone not liking the 18? I freaking love it.
People dislike it for the same reason they dislike the Sony 16/2.8. Lousy edge performance at wide apertures. It's a fast/wide street lens, not a wide landscape lens. Unfortunately when it was the only wide in the system that caused problems for people who wanted a wide landscape lens. Which is a lot of people.

I've been itching to invest into the Fuji X system for a while now. I couldn't resist and bought the X-E1 kit. It will be a nice backup cam when the X-T1 arrives

My beef with the 18 was its price. It was bested by m4/3 lenses costing half as much (e.g. the Panny 14). I can certainly see it being useful for a lot of folks, though.

Agreed... If it were priced closer in line with the 27mm (say, $250-300 incl. rebate) then I feel they would move a lot more (including one my way,) and with "better" reviews... But, until those prices are abound, I'd rather put those funds towards, say, the new 56mm that's coming out.
