As some may know- I don't do much shooting any more- but I do a lot of posting from years past.
On this forum the images are 99.9% from slides- recently scanned and processed.
Here are three I liked that were posted this year.
1. Salmon shark- probably 8-10 feet long.
Image taken in Alaska's Resurrection Bay- near Seward.
Unique species to me and probably others as well.
Looking like young great whites, these cold water sharks are named because they like to feed on salmon- especially during salmon spawning runs.
2. Redwood grove in northern California coastal area.
As I arrived at Lady Bird Johnson Grove, the morning sun was burning its way through the fog.
I had to walk almost 20 feet from where I parked to get this shot .
3. Not a great shot- but I like the curious looks and gangling legs of the baby moose as they inspected me.
Mama was browsing but keeping a careful eye on me.
Shot on the grounds of the lodge where I worked- in Alaska along the Kenai River.

Really nice tropical set Alex The Toucan is my pick of the bunch!!!
Excellent second go around Tony, the moorhens fighting is too funny but the gater is the most dramatic
Charlie, your scanned slides and the stories you have posted are one of the highlights of tuning into this forum. Other times when I wander to other forums and find your shots there they always put a smile on my face. Keep it up my friend! The second shot, the redwoods, is a pure stunner. That is from one of my favorite places to visit and you did indeed capture really well, something I have yet to do. Also the young moose put a smile on my face, what an adorable shot. Great stuff Charlie
Super duper set Tin Man, 2 made me laugh, what a fantastic print that would make!!!! As always excellent work!

Karl has suggested a third and final round to end the year and this celebratory post with so let's go for it!!!
Once again please only post 3 images, all of us have way too many to choose from and it isn't easy for any of us.
Feel free to make this round a bit different... maybe not your BEST images but rather your FAVORITE or ones the for some reason or another are SPECIAL to you.
Thanks for playing,
Tim

A little different..........
Sometimes a walk out in Nature can offer the strangest things, and at times the most beautiful things and at other times a brief moment that will forever bring back that split seconds memories.
There is lots to be seen, always give time to the 'little things of interest' too

I think you can title the last one Patina Karl. That is the first thing that comes to mind when I look at, all the different types of patina. That has got to be a textural masterpiece if there ever was one. Your other two are classics, a classic full figured hawk and the classic Witt styled orchid. I knew you had something up your sleeve Top notch buddy!
