Much interest has been shown about the size/weight of RF glass possibilities on the A7/A7R bodies. Has anyone started using any of their Oly's on the A7/A7R yet?

Great, we really needed an Oly on A7/R thread...
How about take a look in the A7(r) images thread. Any member using any kind of alt glass, including Oly, will post their shots there.

Or they might post in any of the other dozen-odd A7(R) threads, which together total thousands of posts. Or they might not post at all, when they would if they find that someone is interested in the kit they've put together.
If you think a post is useless, I suggest you ignore it. If you feel compelled to offer criticism, be aware that sarcasm not only translates poorly in plain text but also poorly to other languages for FM lurkers who don't speak English but do use computer translation services to glean what wisdom they can from our misadventures. I know I've looked at my fair share of forums in Japanese, Mandarin, Spanish, German, and French, and I wouldn't mind it if became common for people everywhere to write what they mean in plain terms.
That said, I would be in favor of a FM exif-ripper that allows one to search for posts that contain images by lens/camera make/model and resolution, which would enable folks to sift through the many threads here that contain hundreds or thousands of posts. Barring an organizational tool like that, I say let chaos and natural selection govern the appropriateness of threads in the Alt Forum. Everyone else is welcome to their own opinions, of course.

I have been trying to watch the umpteen image threads for Oly glass samples, if they get posted here, it's cool with me. Om 50/1.2? Oh yeah. Om 21/x.x? Oh baby.

Gee thanks for the advice, I am really concerned that people using translate services don't get my sarcasm. Yeah, I was sarcastic again. And good luck on that exif-ripper for alt lenses.

I don't understand the animosity shown towards the Sony a7(R) threads.
No one is limited from starting or participating in other thread topics. What's the rub? What pain do you suffer from overlooking threads you're not interested in?
I understand if FM steps in to complain about bandwidth conservation, but what business is it of forum members to censor other members?

I'm pretty sure I saw some OM 21 images posted in some A7 thread somewhere at some point... I agree with the sentiment that it's getting hard to keep up with all the A7 content here.

Since the thread is already here, I'll bite.
The OM lenses are indeed very small, but since the register distance of the OM mount is fairly large, they are not nearly as small as RF lenses on the camera. Don't get me wrong, I think they balance well and the ergonomics are actually improved because of this.
Now, the most interesting part is the rendering of the OM lenses. I find it terrific. Colors are very Leica-like with subtle nuances coming through, more than I see with modern Zeiss lenses. Resolution might not be the best, but local contrast is very good. Vignetting is high even stopped down with some lenses, but I don't mind that.
Regarding bokeh, Olympus seem to have chosen an unusual path, which I like. Namely, bokeh is generally softer the further away you focus. So, reportedly "harsh" lenses like the 28/2 actually give quite nice bokeh once you're not doing semi-closeups (where harsh bokeh can be pretty cool, in my opinion).
I have to investigate this further, but this far I can say that I like the OM lens lineup much more than Nikon MF lenses (that I have used for a very long time on D700). Just a warning though: I often have vastly different taste than most other people. For example, I didn't like the Voigtländer 35/1.2 at all.

I ran a couple searches first before I posted yet "another" thread. I didn't find anything returned via my search efforts ... and while I "debated" about posting another thread, I didn't do so without any regard. I was just wondering if anyone has been using them yet. Maybe we need a new Oly Forum too.
We've been hard on the trail of RF's ... Oly's would seem to be the next progression from the size/weight aspect ... and yes their rendering, etc.
Martin,
+1 @ Oly rendering vs. Nikon / Voigt. I choose between the Oly or AIS depending on which rendering I want to apply to a given image/scene.

Makten, thanks for these images! I have a 50\1.4, 24\2.8, and the fisheye that I'm eager to try out if the camera ever arrives! IMG_8261 by adnan76, on Flickr

Well, there is a main A7/r discussion thread that already has over 110 pages and evidently getting tons of attention, so I don't understand why people think they wouldn't get the answer to simple questions like "who has used OM lenses on this camera" or "which adapter works with EF lenses". Simple stuff that doesn't really need a new thread IMO.

If I pick up an A7 I think I'd probably also get an OM 21 f/3.5. Seems to be the ideal alt wide angle for the camera for me at the time being. Still waiting to see more samples, though, before diving in.

Well, I ran multiple search attempts using both Sony and A7 as keywords with Oly and after opening about half a dozen posts in that thread only to find no mention of Oly in the referenced posts from the search ... I found a total of ZERO returns for Oly on Sony A7/A7R, so I did not continue looking through the remainder of the thread posts returned.
Repeated searches again now ... still not getting proper Oly on A7 returns from the searches.
Again, I did not post this thread like a newbie who didn't look multiple times first ... sorry to offend those who are put off by this thread.

I got my A7 today. I have an Oly 21/3.5 with adapter, I'll try to get a pic. Its dark now so maybe I can get something outside tomorrow at infinity.
Edit to say just ignore the forum police. These threads have their place and they quickly fall to the bottom after they are exhausted and everyone will be happy.

Thanks, that would be much appreciated.
My particular interests are the 21/3.5 and the 18/3.5 but welcome all. Infinity works of course, but I also use my WA/UWA's @ mfd, so they all have value to me. Thanks again, looking forward to seeing what you come up with.
