Wow...so many good images as I review the last couple of pages...it's very hard to keep up.
Pdmphoto, Werner, Rene, Manuel, Mike, Phillip, okay...just everyone who has posted...beautiful stuff! The 90 macro is looking very good and I like the postings showing more than just the typical macro shots (i.e. Werner's "Field tracks" is beautiful), though the macros are very impressive.

! Wow!
René
Very nice image René. I wanted to comment on this (and your previous similar shot) because I walked this path with my wife many times last September on our first visit to France. We rented an apartment for a week and, if I have my directions correct, our apartment near Rue Cler was off to the right by just a few blocks(?). We had a lot of fun walking around Paris for 8 days...thanks for this reminder!

Jordan, very very nice
Could you please tell me which was distance between camera and subject (more or less)? Thanks in advance.
Manuel
For the hoverflies and the first one, I was fairly close to 1:1 (definitely at 1:1 for the first shot). The butterflies range from being about 6 inches (from front element) to around 2 feet.
The A7r is not a camera for fast moving things like a tour peleton. I put it on continious shooting and @ 500 ISO to get faster shutterspeed. The camera went very hot after a few pictures and was dead many times to write things to the card. No it is not a sports camera.
This is the tête de la course yesterday where you see Daniel Teklehaimanot who will be in the polka-dot yersey at the end of the day.
Second picture is the peleton 11 minutes later at that moment.
Thanks. I probably shouldn't tell you that I wasn't exactly a pillar of steadiness with these. Especially the hoverfly shots. Used AF, framed with the camera held below me and the rear screen tilted up and just sort of mashed the shutter when it was framed correctly. OSS + IBIS = pretty good stability.
