Thank you twoeye. Didn't know you have one too!
I had no idea this thing would be so sharp. I thought it was all about bokeh and that sharpness would be similar to C/Y 50/1.7 at best. It's not only sharp, but great resolution too. The Contax is also a nice lens, but now it'll be hard to leave the Rokkor home when traveling... for example Sardinia next week. To bring CY 18, 28 and 50 would be both lighter and more practical though, so I think I'll stick with that.

Yes I did/do, I started the trail 15 days ago, I was blown away but over all image quality from it, it's like having a new sensor in my camera but I am having trouble with too much red/magenta. I started playing with the skin tone color checker first but that didn't bring down the reds in the image over all (such as the background etc) and then went on to play and add some blue tones from the color wheel. It worked OK. I also tried brining down the white balance to a cooler level which worked for some shots.
I just (well yesterday) found out the best solution, for me, so far though and I recommend you give it a try.
Bring up the curves tool, go in to the red color channel and just add a point to the middle of the curve (or where you need it) and just bring it down a notch, or as far as needed of course. Just a tad down, like 2 or 3 presses of the down arrow gave me overall good colors without bringing too much green or blue in to the photo.
Funnily enough, I don't have the same issue with my Fuji x100s files.
tried to play with the curve as you said, came up nice, but have to spend more time with it... to make a preset that could potentially work with most images...
it's a lot more powerful than lightroom for sure!
it's hard to make small adjustments with the mouse, why didn't they put some arrows
as I said, now I'm just playing with colors: DSC07638 by Maxx AU, su Flickr
One of my first shots with the 28 F2 FE lens. I'm carrying this instead of my 35mm f2.8 Zeiss. It gives me just a little bit wider angle and is a very nice carry around lens. I'm not finding any sharpness issues with corrected distortion when needed.
That Hotel Bonaventure is on one of several long boulevards that many car commercials are filmed on. Usually you get a peek of the hotel in at least one sequence....

In the strong sunlight of Sardegna 50/1.7 C/Y Planar will render much less CA compared to the 58/1.2 Rokkor and almost no veiling at wider apertures too.
I love Rokkors, but going to the south,Zeiss is always my choice. They simply deliver and usually require less PP.

Thank you for the advice! Knowing how much experience you have with these lenses I'll trust you and stick with the Contax "set". That will save me about 350g and there'll be less hassle when changing lenses since the C/Y adapter can be on the camera the whole time. I'm happy with how the CY 50 performed on our trip to Stockholm, so it should be OK.
Btw. thanks for the likes everyone!
Since since is a picture thread, here's one from the Contax 50/1.7:
On the small hill in the background lives a fox which I have been trying to get a good shot of, but it is very shy and usually either very far away or gone in a flash when you get close. I saw it again today but it was gone into the underbrush before I could even lift the camera.
