Bob - your CV 15mm III pics are looking very encouraging. Any regrets? Have you compared it with any other UWA's - thinking of the Samyang 14mm or Sony-Zeiss 16-35 OSS?

Dave

I have the 16-35/4 but the CV 15/4.5 III is so much better IMO. Color, rendering, sharpness. No regrets at all!

Dale - your Sony FE 24-240 is really surprising me. I'm not use to a 10x zoom looking so good. Considering you have some really good glass are you happy with this lens?

The FE 24-240 surprises me more than anybody. I keep thinking it is better than it could possibly be with this zoom range and price point. The new Adobe profiles in Lightroom make it even easier to like. In many ways it is like the Leica WATE in that it helps to think about PP while you are framing your shots or you give yourself a lot of work. But overall, the lens gives you great files to work with. If you are not married to shallow depth of field I could see this being a candidate for a single lens solution. It is great for convenience traveling. I just took a single camera body and a lens pen and extra battery with me most days.

Bob. Have you found that the CV 15/4.5 III consistently underexposes by about a stop (even after accounting for the heavy vignetting)?

I've only had mine for about a week, and while I love the size, weight, rendering and FOV, find myself a bit annoyed at having to remember to shoot at +1 (or add about a stop in PP).

Sorry. I forgot to add that info.
First 2 were taken with the EF16-35/f4L IS
Third and 4th were taken with the Sony FE24-70/f4.

Previous post now edited to reflect that.

I just received the new FE 28 f/2. These are the first shots on an A7s. Like others, I find the lens very attractive in terms of IQ and size.

So I tried out the ultra-cheapo Toyo/Five Star 35-75mm zoom that my father-in-law gave me from his old kit. He was not a serious shooter, but shot Minolta stuff for a while, and has some ultra cheap zooms with it. The lens is surprisingly sharp over about 85-90% of the frame, right from wide open, throughout the zoom range. However, the corners go to complete mush and it is a VERY low contrast lens (so much so that it's easily visible in the viewfinder). It also has a big hot spot that I had to edit with a radial filter of -1 stop in Lightroom. Still, a unique look, though I'm going to have to look for a different manual zoom. Finding an MD 35-70/3.5 Macro may be difficult...a few out of the US on eBay for pretty high prices right now...maybe I'll try the FD 35-70 first and see how it works..I can get one of those for about $40.

Anyway, that Toyo is OK for a lo-fi sort of look. This is at 75mm wide open:

My internet was done today for a couple of hours today so I went to the park to take some shots with my two new lenses, a Sony 28/2.0 and a Rokinon 24/1.4. Here are two pictures wide open and a shot around f11 on the Rokinon.
