pretty impressed. and this is with the "kit lens" I'm waiting for the 55mm f1.8 to arrive, but I've got to say I didn't expet to like this lens at all. It's actually pretty great. Also, I went from the RX1 and I've got to say the A7 is a totally different type of camera. To me, it feels like a more serious camera thoughl

As 90% of my scenes subjects are green my major headache have been the weird way how Lighroom (+Apple Aperture and Sony's own software and to lesser extend CaptureOne) twist hues of green by turning hue to yellow with brighter greens, in case when middle bright green is adjusted to correct hue. These issues are same with A7 and A7r (and lesser extend with A850), from Canon 5DmkII images there are other issues, but this issue is not there.

I did fight with the issue for quite some time and people here on FM and everywhere else complained about my

I've had similar frustration getting good green hues from the shadows to the highlights. I live in the Pacific Northwest where we have an abundance of greens. I mentioned my observation in a post here on FM and received a couple replies telling me I must be mistaken because the Sony sensors have the best color, blah, blah, blah... It seems to be a weakness of the sensor. It doesn't output consistent color hues across the luminance range. My Canon 5DII did a better job at that. So does my Samsung NX30. I find I have to use Photoshop to adjust the greens for the shadows, midtones, and highlights. I also use the black, grey, white level level droppers as needed.

I'll give the recommendation here a try. Here is an image (previously posted - apologies) that was very hard to correct for greens from my A7r:

This thread moves SO fast.

So many excellent images.

A cross-post from the Post Your Latest Film shots thread
( https://www.fredmiranda.com/forum/topic/658112/507?nc=1#13003213), albeit one that makes me wonder why I am shooting film again as well as digital...when it goes right it's great and when it doesn't you wonder why you bother.

The same experience here. When I said that I prefer the colors of the 5DII over Sony cameras most people told me how inferior the Canon sensor is. I miss the color rendering of that camera, more pleasing and consistent than any of the Sony cameras that I've owned.

Samuli, I was one of those people that told you that I prefered your old Canon photos. I still do today. It might be subtle, but they just looked more "real" to me.

The standard profiles tend to be sort of blah with greens. I'm finding my custom camera profile created with my Color Checker does a really nice job with them. (Though that profile has a tendency to oversaturate reds...in that case I add a -15 to -20 on the red calibration saturation and the image looks dead-on accurate).

I've not yearned for my 5D II colors since shooting with the a7R, I use PhotoNinja though and I'm guessing most people are using Lightroom. Not sure that would be the sole cause though.

Still working through a big pile of images from Homegrown. The Social Disaster put on an incredible show, first time seeing this band. Hope these three aren't too repetitive, the floor was very active, so I mostly stayed put and played "table dad" (moving glasses, bottles, and purses to safer tables for when the pit got a bit wild). :P

For the last three nights of the festival, I saw 12 or so acts, always had the Contax G 45mm and 90mm. For this night, I brought the Olympus OM 24mm f/2.8 as my wide. Definitely too wide. On the next night, I took the Canon FD 35mm f/2 SSC (concave thorium). Worked really well for me, but a bit too close to the G 45mm given how much it weighs.

On the last night, I brought the G 28mm, which did quite well. The field curvature helped me out sometimes, but the vignetting did hurt me a bit - the A7 sensor can deal with a lot, but when you're already shooting at ISO 12800 or 25600, lifting the corners by another stop or two can be rough.

Jack...those are gorgeous!

As far as the trimming...I, along with so many on FM, and with such a plethora of lenses and people, are always striving for the latest and greatest! Especially with the diversity of lenses too. But eventually, I've realized, that with my situation(family, job, life, and everything in between) I can only shoot so much!! I take my camera to work everyday, and sometimes I get out elsewhere, but I'm left with pretty much the same scenes day after day. Very redundant....so, I've told myself, let's reduce the lineup to some lenses that really count, and concentrate on diversifying the redundancy....
So far my keepers are: 35/2 Biogon, 50's Lux E46 and Loxia, and either the 75 Summarit( which I'd like a 90) or the OM 100, and my trusty Minolta 35-70/3.5 macro. I am eyeing the FE 28 with/wide adapter, but that would be all...5 maybe 6 to keep....pretty worthy, I think?

Very nice images Michiel and Werner, above...
Here are a few portraits with the A7rM and 50 Lux E46...
