Some spectacular photo's on this page. JaKo (love your PP, really incredible and adding this special atmosphere), Pinholecam, Rebel and, again... Joshua (the waiting was worth it, obviously), to mention a few. Sebboh incredible clarity on the eyes.
Here from last week a mere birch tree on an overcast day with the venerable Rokkor 85/1.7.
Joshua.. awesome shots !!!
Gregg, very nice series Love the ZM 25.
Jack, great shot and love the 21 SEM It is an awesome combo with the A7rM.
I will try and get a comparison of all three, but then which body and distance My feeling is that even at f/4 the Loxia is sharper of all three with the A7II at mid and far distances and more importantly the nuances in colour graduation is all there.
Bob, wow.. great series with the CV 15 III
Shot from late evening last night.
I have added the B&W conversion for comparison.

Thank you so very much, teh_rebel, Gregg, Bas and Charles!
One last image from Gošafoss, showing more of the waterfall taken the day before.
Man, I am so damn jealous of the shot with the 2 kayakers in the water. It's a perfect capture in my books and you could have not done it any better. I mean, it's not a shot that you can easily go out and duplicate. Kudos to you, my friend!

Here are 3 images from Gošafoss, waterfall of the gods in the northern part of Iceland.
The two kayakers in the second and last image were shooting a commercial when I was there and not just some kind of dare devil. The shooting crew was on the ledge beneath my location and closer to the action and they used a drone, as well. I anticipated that the second kayaker in green would do exactly that when I saw him up there on the second image. And I didn't want to miss the action while climbing down to the lower part. So, I just stayed put and my hunch was right......Show more →

Great shot, and timing. Even if it is a commercial these guys are crazy.
I have enjoyed your Iceland series very much.
Thank you very much, Michael. I am flattered that you like the series.

Bobby, fancy seeing you here and thank you! I got lucky that time, what can I say.
Joshua: I don't think I need to repeat what everyone is saying about your work . I just wish I was there to look at these beautiful marvels in person, but for now, your captures will do .
Jack: As nice as the Elmar 24 is, it's strange that it actually produces cyan cast on my A7s; very apparent in my shots. My G 21 and ZM 15 doesn't have any (a surprise after the mod for me). Nonetheless, it's still the sharpest lens I have at WO (only my 85 has this kind of consistency across the frame at f/4). I have to say this is the lens that make me want to get deeper into Leica land (a mix of Zeiss contrast and even sharpness + Leica color and smooth OOF roll-off).
Charles: Thank you for the inputs on the M-mount 50 choices. I almost got the 50 APO last night but the seller backed out the last minute . I thought I would complement the 50 APO with a more character but smooth bokeh 50. Now I'm back to square one. By all accounts, the 50 APO seems to fit the draw of the Elmar 24 (or is it the other way around ), which I like very much right now.
I am out of the A7r image thread for a while as I just sold it to make way for an A7II (really need the IBIS and EFCS) or the a7rII (assuming it will have IBIS & EFCS too). Sold my A7R kit (body, grip, batteries, charger, etc.) for $50 less than I paid - not a bad rental fee for about a year's worth of use.
Hopefully Sony will have the A7rII out before summer and I can be back in this thread!
I got a new lens on Monday, a Canon FD 35mm f/2 SSC II. It's nice, but it is big and heavy. I'll give it a few weeks before I decide whether it stays or goes.
