Charlie N, that 3rd picture on your first post is just gorgeous. Wow. How do you like the olympus 200 f5? Never shot it, seems like a nice option.
Just some hiking photos with my buddy
The lens is ok, likely a keeper for me. It's very sharp, even wide open, however also suffers from CA wide open (most of the time fixable, sometimes not). It's doesnt have the contrast of zeiss of course, and the files require a little more processing, however, there's no denying it's sharp. Focus throw could use a bit of improvement, seems a little bit too short for my liking. Really LOVE the size, it's a little longer than the 24-70, but weighs less, and I get a kick looking at the lens..... so tiny for a 200mm. I'm having a little bit of a problem getting super stable shots, and I've got to figure it out still. Viewfinder is a total mess at times, but it could be due to the VERY windy conditions I was shooting in. I'm not sure if it's my head (using a gitzo systematic 3 series CF 3 section), Arca p0 or sony mount or the wind
btw, the water texture shot is cool (assuming it's water right?)
This little comparison might be of interest. Three images shot within a few minutes of each other, same light conditions, same subject matter (several of the arhats (or elders) seen in the larger dukhang (assembly halls)). Two are from the a7r and FE55, the other from an RX1; easy to be happy with both cameras for this kind of work.
