Thanks. Thought I had uploaded at 1440 pixels wide, but it turns out they got changed to 640 without my knowing. I will try to sort it out for next time.
Hi this is my first post in this forum.
This profile I made out of Adobe Standard with some tweaking. A whole morning of trial and error. But it came out good.
'Stupas' in the Tibetan world are known as 'chorten' (choo-er-den). These are multi-purpose structures that may be reliquary chorten built to contain the remains of abbotts and even dalai lamas for centuries; or physical markers of significant spiritual locations - a kind of guide post for pilgrims in their wanderings. They vary enormously in style and size; the ones shown here are key components of a very old and important monastery, and afford internal entry. FE55 / a7r.
These images were taken last evening at Lock Ridge Park, Albertus, PA with my tripod mounted A7r and my Leica M 90mm f2.5 Summarit lens. The third image was heavily cropped and all of the images were processed in LR5.7.1
I've got a trip to Brugge soon and have been trying to figure out what kit to take.
Am I the only one that thinks the A7r + Metabones + Canon lenses is too cumbersome for walkaround?
I was planning on a7r +fd 20mm, FE35, FE55 and the EOS 16-35/4 for tripod/sunrise/sunset but my fd20 is not playing well with the cheap adapter, it's not quite reaching infinity and I may not have time to sort it before we leave.
Yesterday I mentioned how much I've loved seeing the Rokkor 55/1.2 posts in this thread, and Sebboh's were the latest in a long line. However I have the Cosina 55/1.2 so I need to decide if I want to keep that one or sell it for the Rokkor.
Here are the first few from today's walk with my dog, around the compound in Shanghai where I live :
The first and the last here show the Cosina treatment of specular highlights (the reason I bought this lens) the best. A little gust of wind created the movement blur at the bottom of the lantern.
This lens is brilliant with nightime specular highlights - but daytime will have to do for now
No purple fringing !
Ah maybe this is a better demonstration (honestly - even up close I couldn't find any)
...... or this one (just a tad on the chrome lock)
Unwilling model
Bribery with a chew-stick was the only way to keep her attention !
It isn't a pseudo-macro lens for sure, 0.7m the closest focus.
But it's sharp enough and subject isolation can be gorgeous (great for portraits having a 'glow' and not being ultra-sharp)
