Tried out the A7 with the Sony E 16-70mm F/4 OSS in crop mode and the Sony 70-200mm F/4. The sensor is dirty but I had trouble blowing away the dust with a rocket blower. Need to learn how to learn it. The AF in dim light is definitely not no where close to the 5DIII I had before but I knew that going in.
Lovely shots from my neck of the woods. I especially like number 1. If you haven't cleaned it yet, you probably just need to do a wet cleaning. I find eclipse solution and pads work well are aren't too expensive. I fear dust may be one problem that is a bit worse with mirror less cameras.
Sony A7 + Carl Zeiss Distagon T* 2.8/21 ZF 2 by Ronny Olsson, on Flickr
You produce some beautiful images with that Distagon, Ronny - I have the FD 20, and while it would match the Distagon in the centre, sadly its corners lag way behind. I'm envious - John

Hey Steve, thanks for the comment. I go to Toronto several times a year for business. I was trying to see if there were good deals left at those Sony stores they are closing but didn't have time. I was surprised the exchange rate is now down to 1 Canadian Dollar to $0.8 US!! Maybe time to order something from the Canadian online camera stores?
Due to extenuating family circumstances, haven't been able to shoot much...spending too much time hopping back and forth between Texas and the northeast every two weeks. Hopefully that will change in the next few months. Took these while putzing around the house, making sure that I haven't forgotten which end of the camera faced forward. Both with A7r and Canon FD 50/1.4SSC:
a7r / FE55. Forgetful from altitude, I left my daypack on the bench this guy was sitting on. It had in it my RX1, and three (precious to me) lenses. I got back 25 minutes later, there it was. Lovely people, full of decency and respect for others.
Looking back 2014 summer photos it's hard to figure out FE55 - some scenes I like but most scenes work better with Zeiss Planars (G45, C/Y 50, ZE 50). For example I like rendering of first photo below, good feeling of presense and "being there instead staring photo". But on second photo the boke contrast and structure is not as nice as I would like it be. Both 2/3 stop closed down (=f/2.2).
