View across to the world-famous Bund from Liujiazui. Of course I forgot the lights on Shanghai's famous buildings which make the views so spectacular from either side of the river, are switched off on Mondays .... !!
Had to be satisfied with whatever I could get !
The barge was of course in total shadow so it was either bracket or light paint, luckily I brought a powerful torch so it was the later
A7 and Olympus 24mm @ f8 and I think it was 30" N.B to self, need to update the watermark
On the same night (yesterday) I also wanted to try out my recently acquired, but not yet tested, Tamron 17mm f3.5. A disappointing start, and having forgotten to bring a tiny screwdriver to rotate the screw-on hood on the Tamron, that somehow I'd put on wrong and was showing in the shots, I put the lens away for the night
Look at the flare in this shot ! Compare to one from the D800E and Zeiss 21mm below (for the Zeiss ANY flare is rare).
Tamron on A7
Zeiss 21mm on D800E (aside from the flare this has had a little PP and it's now too warm/magenta but for flare comparative purposes it's fine) !
Werner...great shot as usual! Love your 135 shots!
Michiel...excellent night shot with fog. What aperture?
Kevin...awesome images.
Derek...how does the G28 work on the A7? Love your bird pics!!
Errz...great Ironman macros!
Bob...so...which do you prefer? The Planar or the Nokton? You've had some incredible shots with the Nokton lately! Putting it to good use!!

Gregg
Gregg - I still need to work with them more. I love them both and I still can't put my finger on it. I think one might be sharper than the other, then I see how sharp they both are. I think one might be better for up close shallow DOF (with VM-E adapter), then I see the other also does a great job. They are similar but very different and to date, I haven't been able to associate the differences with my style(s) of shooting. About the only concrete observation is that the Planar appears overall better for night photography in an urban setting. The Nokton has displayed some blue/violet flares in some instances but not all. Bottom line, I'm having a blast with both . . .

3 more with the ZM Biogon 35/2
Gregg
thanks! i think that last one is the best set yet with the zm 35/2.
the g28 is very good in the center 2/3 and very bad in the outer 2/3 on the a7. i'm hoping that getting the thinner sensor stack will make fully useful again.
