The lot next to us was just bought and our new neighbors have bulldozed and poisoned every living piece of vegetation except the blue oaks, and half of them have been chopped down. If the names Saruman & Isengard are familiar to you, you’ll have a clear vision of the scene unfolding next door.
You only have to look at my avatar to know how I feel about trees. Given the ongoing situation, I just had to get out and spend some time with them...and came back with these images.
#1 Cottonwoods/Poplars aren’t generally known for a graceful form, but the upward flowing lines here gave me an emotional lift. A7with Lux 50 ASPH.
#2 &3 Backlit Willow & boulders. Couldn’t decide which to post, so went with both. A7 with CV 125.
If anyone has images of trees they would care to post, I can guarantee at least one like. And my avatar would love it.
Which is sharper, the zeiss 16-35 f4 or canon 16-35 f2.8
I'd put my money on the Zeiss/Sony! I had the 16-35 2.8 years ago on my 1D4, and while very sharp in the center, the edges and corners never really sharpened up. A better comparison would be the new Canon 16-35/4 vs the Sony/Zeiss...

Agree, the 16-35/2.8ii on my 5D2 was serviceable but never inspiring and when I did comparisons to my OM 21/3.5 and of course 24Lii they spanked the zoom. After only a few dozen shots with the 16-35/4 FE on my A7s I know I won't have similar complaints.

Great pics on the last few pages... To mention a few:
Great shot Ryan. You make me miss the CV 35/1.2.
Bob, nice work with 16-35. Seems like a nice lens. How does it do on the distortion and vignetting front ?
Werner, amazing landscapes.
Michiel, nice seascape

The weather has been so crappy, I haven't had much opportunity to shoot. However the lens profile is in LR5 so I haven't noticed any distortion once applying the profile. The lens is a winner in my view!
A gloomy day at the Devil's Golf Course, Death Valley NP. No complaints though...it helped me manage a very contrasty scene. 2 frame focus stack with the A7 & WATE.
