Some shots from a father - daughter back packing trip about a month ago. I believe these are with the A7s + Olympus OM 24mm f/2.8 at either f/8 or f/11.
Thanks Peire, sometimes we (me included) are looking to much on technical aspects of or cams and lenses.
If i show pics printed, nowbody can really tell (except me ) or cares about which lens or cam was used.
So I am wondering if you would be willing to share what some of the best (affordable) wide to normal legacy lenses for the A7 are in your experience. I can't afford Leicas so those are out of the picture.
Like someone else said, you have 500+ pages of inspiration to help you out.
Nevertheless let me share my own personal experience.
- Samyang 14/2.8 now available in E-mount - cheap and unbeatable for the price. Somewhat bulky.
- Nikon AF 20/2.8D - compact and very nice.
- Zeiss 18/3.5 ZF.2 - I had this one before the Nikon; fantastic and slightly better than the Nikon 20 but at what price, bulk and weight difference...
- Sony FE 35/2.8 - expensive but well worth it IMO. Small and discreet. But lots of alternative in these pages. Check Philip Reeves pictures with an old Minolta 35mm!
- Sony FE 55/1.8 - wow! But expensive. Same comment as 35mm above.
- Sony 28-70mm, the "kit" lens. Not bad but definitely nowhere near a Zeiss. But fairly cheap.
- Sony A-mount 100/2.8 macro. I have this one but I am unimpressed. And mechanically in manual focus I find the motor resistance annoyance. In automatic focus (using Sony LAE4 adapter), it hunts way too much. I look forward to get the Tamron 90/2.8 SP Di instead.
- I acquired the FE 70-200/4. Again, superb but expensive. See 35mm comments.
Dale, Werner, Peire, Vern, Samuli, Bob, Ken, Johnahill, and Harta-Barta...very nice fantastic, inspirational, incredible photos!!
My humble selections for the day with the Contax 35-70/3.4

I had a polarizer on the lens but it wasn't fully " on" as I had an another pic where the sky is much more darker, it's a downside of the EVF : on my former 6D it was quite obvious when the polarizer was " on ", now I have to put faith in drop of light hitting the sensor to figure I have turned the ring right, not obvious at all
This is the annual event of repainting the letter M on the mountain in celebration of 49ers holiday. The participants can either choose to carry a 50-lb bag of lime up to peak and re-paint the letter M or decide that by carrying themselves through a mile of steep, rocky slope would be a feat in and of itself. The winner this year clocked in at 39 minutes and I'm content with my 2-hour mark .
