A three-day hike in the mountains at altitudes ranging from 1,500 to 2,600 meters, featuring remarkable scenery and excellent evening meals at local homes.
The 2,500-meter elevation gain dictated the choice of lightweight gear: Sony A7II and Nikon AF 28-70/3.5-4.5 and Nikon E 75-150/3.5 zoom lenses.
Curiously, even though I used both lenses more or less equally, I chose to keep the photos taken with the telephoto lens.
Over 1,700 steps of huffing and puffing in the dark to take a few shots of Merapi Volcano in Central Java - it became more active lately. I could see some lava flow with my naked eyes but when I took a few images, of course, the volcano didn't spew any. Oh, well...
