The last few pictures including the baby is stunning, The mikaton is such an under rated lens. This is one lens i would buy it without thinking.
My newest possession that replaced a couple of lenses that i had with canon is Zeiss 135 F2 APO. This lens just took me back to my schooling days...Childish and fun...this is one lens thats stunning yet gives a huge learning curve to sharpen your skills with your A7r,. I am getting to understand my lenses MF system better with this lenss more than any other lens. Not even the F0.95's.
This lens is critically sharp at the point of focus and just is not sharp once out of the fp.
Wide open at F2. Absolutely random shots..
and the last two are a random shot and i had no clue of how much the lens can resolve for the A7r. here it is.
Got out today with the A7s and 55/1.8 FE. It's the only time I missed my D700 and 70-200 VR2. The A7s just can't keep up, but once I realized this and prefocused manually, I was able to get some nice shots.
Anyone know if the 70-200mm f/4 OSS focuses any faster than the 55/1.8 FE or is the A7s just not capable to do these kings of shots? Might rent one to find out, but I'm afraid I must might have to pick up a nice older manual focus 135mm f/2.8 AIS Nikon.
The focal length looks perfect for this sport. The shutter sheep id slightly higher for my liking that it just freezes everything
But wonderful colors.
The A7s is not going to be any competition to DSLR's. The AF in A7s is definitely not capable to let the camera decide the picture.
The amount of delay between pressing the shutter and the actual picture taken makes me feel that we need to prefocus well in advance and also learn to time the shutter.
Heck, the 6D will kick around A7 series all day long with is much better AF algorithm. I have been using the 6D for over a year before moving to A7R. I am just retuning my skills and learning new ways to beat the deficiency of super slick AF.

Yeah, I think even if the A7 series could come close to DSLR focus speed, it still suffers from slower shutter delay. If I shot sports the majority of the time, I would have stayed with my D700 setup, but I think manually pre-focus is the key to shooting sports with this camera. One thing is for sure, carrying around three lenses and the A7s was so much easier than my previous kit.
Side note- Today I saw Mark Kariya (top dirt bike photographer) out shooting and couldn't believe how easy he made it look to carry three full frame bodies, one with wide zoom, one with 70-200/2.8, and one with 300/f2.8. No mono pod and all hanging off straps. Good lawd!!!!
Anyone own a Sony lens adapter LA EA4 and a late model Sigma A mount 50-500 OS or 150-500 OS ? Wondering if either of these two lenses will work properly giving both auto focus and exposure on the A7 and Nex E mount bodies ? Information on Amazon seems to indicate no from reviewers.

The 135mm f/2.8 Ai-s balances nicely on my A7s, and mated to my Zhongyi Lens turbo 2 on Nex 6 also produces stellar results. Still quite cheap as well.
Still have the same problem with Novoflex "adapter light leaks" in long exposures ... come through button where you loosen the lens from the adapter
I use black electrical tape to prevent it
