Beautiful set Douglas, you definitely found some nice fall color!

Very pleasing set, Tim. The sunstar in that last shot is exquisite with the clean thin lines.

Getting the stare down in that second image! Love it.

Really liking that first cactus sunset, Eric! And nice to see you bring out the big gun for the superb egret shot, the graphic lines in the water add a lot.

Spectacularly well done, Ronny!

That little one grabs the heart! Nice capture, Ed.
Last night’s moon about to rise above Zion cliffs. Even though it was dark the cliffs had a glow of light from the town of Springdale, and the two peaks at far left can be seen catching sidelight from the moon.
Thank you Ross! Nice moon shots! I went out to try to shoot the beaver moon at moonrise but it was too cloudy.
As mentioned before, the fall colors this season in general have been below average due to the drought. But there are still nice colors to be had here and there. A few from this morning.

Very nice scene of Huangshan Mt., Joshua. I have been there once, in 1986. I remember I had a Yashica film camera. At that time very very very few Chinese had cameras, maybe 1 out of 10,000. There were no funiculars that time, after climbing up and down the mountains for 3 days, my legs were shaking for more than a week. I was in travel business so they allowed me to stay at the "best" hotel on the mountain top, which had a mud floor lobby. I was assigned randomly to share a room with an older gentlemen who was a photographer for a newspaper. He had been up on the mountain top for several days, waiting for the famed "sunrise in cloud sea" of Huangshan Mt. I may take a trip there next time when I go to China again.

Thank you, Doug! Because of the difference in the weather conditions, I walked away with significantly more keepers from Mt Huangshan than from Zhangjiajie. I even got the sunset and sunrise in Huangshan. And, I got the sunset "in cloud sea" one day but the following day, it was way different, making me feel like I was at a different location completely. Yes, they do have cable cars, yes, more than just one. And still after getting off the station, you still have to hike a fair amount. It took me about 1.5 hours including a few stops to rest and to take pictures. There are a few hotels up there, quite nice actually. Yes, I have to hike to scenic spots from the hotel I stayed, about 30 minutes or so, But definitely worth it. You should go back there, for sure.
Today I rode an ebike into the scenic road through Zion Canyon (closed to vehicles, you either take the shuttle or ride a bike). I first started coming here 25 years ago, but seeing it today from a bike felt totally fresh and new to me.
