Here are a few images of the interior of those make-believe houses at approximately 60% scale. The whole shebang is impressively well thought-out and built, down to the details....

Peire, I am very saddened to hear the Polish F-16 Demo accident at Radom Air Base today. R.I.P. Major "SLAB". His jet crashed during the rehearsal for the show this weekend. I was so looking forward seeing the team perform at the Sanicole Airshow in Belgium on Sept 13/14.
While airshows are thrilling, there are inherent risks involved in the performance, doesn't matter how prepared they are and how much training they had. 26 Blue Angels pilots lost their lives and 21 Thunderbird pilots lost theirs.
A few shots of the Polish Air Force F-16s at a NATO exercise in northern Germany last year...

Douglas,
Thank you for remembering this brave man. Major Maciej "Slab" Krakowian, leader of the F-16 Tiger Demo Team, flight trainer, and recipient of numerous awards, died on September 28, 2025, at 7:30 PM local time, during aerobatics tests, hitting the runway when his plane malfunctioned and suddenly plummeted. No chance to bail out. This is a huge loss for the Polish fighter aviation and the many who admired his craft. Requiescat in pace.

Wow. I had no idea accidents are this frequent. With a total of 232 Blue Angels pilots, that is one in ten that died on the job!

Jim, I have been wondering where you have been. Nice to see you back!
Thanks Douglas (and all)! Yes, I'm still around and paying my FM annual dues. As we start to approach autumn, perhaps I can go out for some update photos of the town colors.

Sometimes the four F-18 Super Hornets or the 4 F-16s fly 18 inches (or even less!) from each other in certain formations. I can't even drive my car 18 inches from the next car. In April this year, Rob Holland, arguably one of the best, if not the best aerobatic pilot in the world ever, was killed in a crash when he tried to land on a military base for the airshow the following weekend. The investigation concluded that a switch or something was not tightened or switched to the wrong position.
Here is Rob Holland in his aerobatic plane over Florida in April 2024.

Playing tourist at Brookgreen Gardens in Murrels Inlet, SC while sourcing botanical abstracts.....the dragons were the cleanest ones captured as the others were pretty banged up like they had been in a brawl. No experience with capturing them and I found it pretty hard to get face on shots before they flew away...the orb weaver was easily 3-4" across 😱 and the amazon water lilly was quite interesting. A mix of the A1M2 with the 300GM and the A7RM5 with a 90 macro or a UW.....
