Dramatic sunset from a few days ago over the Sawatch Range -- a few frames from a series I captured throughout the drama as the mountains and sky were on fire with color. The light shifted fast, painting everything with vivid orange, pink and magenta hues.

Thank you Douglas, every one of those shots from your yard is great! Very nice color, contrast, sharpness and perfectly captured birds in dynamic positions.
This was probably the last outing with otherwise excellent Sony G 16-35/4 PZ after nearly 2 years.New fast and tiny Sony G 16/1.8 plus Sony G 16-25/2.8 and Sigma 16-28/2.8 G overwhelmed,so I'll let the PZ go.

Very nice set, Peire. I still have the 16-35 PZ but haven't used it much. I rarely shoot wider than 24mm. I still have the Voigtlander 15 and 21 f1.4, just in case I know I would be shooting into the sun. The 16-35 PZ is so light. Do you think the 16-24 f28 G sharper than the 16-35 PZ? For travel I think the 16-35 PZ on one camera and the 70-200 f4 GII on another camera could be my simple setup but I may need a fast prime somewhere.

Thank you Douglas.I too use mostly telephotos nowadays, but for interior architectural shots fast UWA zoom/prime with excellent IQ is a must. Sony G 16-25/2.8 is probably not sharper than the 16-35 PZ,but it's 1EV faster and has a real zoom ring, when you want manually set the focal length.I have Voigtlanders 15/4.5 and 21/1.4 as well, but they are too good to go.Also GM 14/1.8,Batis 18/2.8,Loxia 21/2.8,Sigma 17/4.Sony GM 12-24/2.8,Voigtlander 10/5.6 will stay with me.
As for lightweight travel kit I'm a bit puzzled having too many to chose from.G2 70-200/4 is great. What I would miss is 300-400mm long tele end.Something like 16-25/28/35 f 2.8 will probably be taken as well as 24/28-70/2.8 or simply G 20-70/4.The ultimate choice would depend on the travel destination.
