That's a beautiful shot of the waterfall, Joshua! When we went to NZ in 2006, I wasn't serious with photography yet... I remember when we were on the South Island, it snowed, in July. even though I knew we were in the southern hemisphere, it still felt a bit strange.

Fantastic images Roberta. The lens might be unique, but the person behind the lens makes the image....
Heading back to Africa shortly. Looking forward to what I find.
Funny that you needed a 20mm lens to get that shot, Ed. How close were you to the giraffe?
A few from yesterday taken with my new toy.

Thanks, Douglas! I’m enjoying your work from the new 400-800mm, and this first fishing shot is spectacular!

Thanks Douglas. We were in an overnight hide in SA and experienced the giraffe visit just before leaving. My guess is 25'. I ended up shooting horizontal and cropping vertical.
A classic coffee machine from WMF. This model dates from 1954, according to their website. The hotel is going to get it working again, they should send it back to Geislingen for a thorough overall, it would then probably make better coffee than most of what we see today. (Thypoch Simera 28/1.4-E - 1/50s at ISO 2000.)
The airshow world lost a legend today. Rob Holland, the creme da la creme in acrobatic airshow, a true gentleman, passed away in a landing accident at Langley AFB in Virginia today, he was to perform at the airshow there this weekend. I have photographed him many times. the last time I saw him perform was 3 weeks ago in Florida. Here are some shots from April 2024. R.I.P., Rob.
