On a cold and windy day at Lake Kushiro, Hokkaido - the water on this side of the lake is not frozen due to some volcanic activity but some 200-300m behind me and separated by a strip of land, the lake water was frozen solidly.
Whooper swan belongs to the same family as trumpeter swan. I am not sure about the differences though and why the name difference...
Close to midday hike, so decided to dial the harsh light up a little with a Kodachrome preset for an old western vibe. Might not be everyone's cup of tea, but I kind of liked it for how I felt toward the end of the hike.

This reminded me of the show that used to come on in the 90s (I think) where the neighbor would only show the top of his head when looking over the fence when talking to Tim The Tool Man Taylor.
A few more from the Rooster Cogburn Ostrich Farm. Lived in Arizona for several years in the early 2000s and always heard about this place so thought I'd make a trip to it finally on this visit. I can say I did it, but I I don't know that I'd go a second time.
These guys reminded me of a bunch of snakes from Riki Tiki Tavi with the way they moved their heads.
