This thread is quite humbling... So many super talented people! Maybe I'm naive (or easy to please?), but several images shared here made a bigger impression on me than anything Ansel Adams ever did.

I'll probably be blamed for my statement, but I share your opinion, preferring many pictures from this thread over Ansel Adams and Henri Cartier-Bresson,whose work, although of very high value, is generally overrated and treated as a miraculous revelation.

I don't know, I just have an expensive camera that does most of the work for me
Thank you kindly, Ross! I have been enjoying your images of dunes during windstorm. Very photogenic! Windstorms in Southern California, on the other hand, can be devastating... It was scary last night but fortunately, the conditions are better now but the winds caused a lot of damage and despair here.

Taken during a little get away further north a while back...
Thanks, Joshua. Cool shot from SanFran! I was just watching the California fire updates on the news, the destruction already is horrendous. Glad you are safe.

Maybe. But these photographers educated our eyes. Probably the quality of the pics on this thread would have been of much lower level if we were trying to take these pics an instant of reason prior the old masters.
