While out taking landscapes at sunrise these motorized parachute gliders surprised me. I managed to get a few of them by quickly switching from the 12-24 to the 105 macro (the only lenses I had with me).
I make a lot of panoramas because I like wider shots, but I don't like the perspective distortions of wide-angle lenses. An anamorphic lens is an acceptable compromise. I just started experimenting with this, I need to try to use the main "features" of this lens - the bokeh ovals from point light sources and the strip of flair through the entire frame.
Beautiful shots of the shorties, Dave. I need to find some.
My favorite sequence of today, nice light, fairly close, my battery didn't die and I wasn't taking a restroom break when it happened. . My battery did die later in the day when an eagle was diving down straight head-on, which is rare for me. I was kicking myself when I point the camera at the eagle but saw a black view finder.
