With the extreme drought going on in WV I wasn’t sure colors would be good this year at Blackwater SP. How does it look overall compared to past years?
Thank you Ross. Yup, Douglas and I worked with what Blackwater gave us and I enjoyed it. I think there's hope for better color this coming week in the park and elsewhere in the valley. Definitely not quite as vibrant as some past years. Warm temps and drought are undoubtedly the culprits. Cool, dry, sunny days with nightly lows in the 30's this week should improve things a bit. I plan to check out a favorite location atop Cheat Mountain tomorrow and will file a pictorial report Monday. Steve

Ross, it looked like Blackwater Falls SP should be peaking in a week. The lower elevation is still mostly green. I drove to Seneca Rock, I didn't even bother to get out of my car. I will be back next week!
