There are a few FMers from Canada that have been posting great AK images on a regular basis, during their mating season and at their nest. I am not sure whether you guys frequent the same nest/nests or not but regardless, I am definitely envious... 😜

We have - finally - had a couple of sunny weekends in a row, so I was able to get out and enjoy a little Spring. Santa Cruz arboretum... a1 + 300GM, mostly WO or slightly stopped down.

I bought the A7RV this week and this is basically the first photo I've taken with it (other than a few test shots). four shot pano of Downtown Boise at sunset last night.

Love the umbrella shot, it reminds me of a town in Central Portugal named Agueda that is famous for these umbrella displays. The streets in the downtown core are all covered with umbrellas, really beautiful on sunny Portuguese summer days.

Hi Joshua
The birder community here in my city is pretty tight so we generally all know each other. There are a couple of individuals that have posted on this site photos of this particular AK but not many.
There are 3 Kestrels that frequent this location, a mated pair, the hen should be on eggs now, not sure where the nest is but we suspect it's in a hole in a building's brick wall in the neighbourhood. There is also a juvenile male ut I haven't seen him in a while so he likely moved off to fine a new territory.
Almost all of the shots have been taken in the Kestrels hunting ground which is a local urban farmer's field where they hunt insects, voles and snake, there is a lot of farming activity at this time so I suspect the Kestrels will be moving off to another hunting area shortly. Nevertheless I'm spoiled by the access to these beautiful little falcons, they have become my favourite.
