A photo montage (composite) that uses color, gestural marks, shapes, and elements of nature to show the shifts in perspective when studying a natural scene. Cubists proposed that our sight of an object is the sum of many different views and our memory of an object is not constructed from one angle, as in perspective, but from many angles selected by our sight and movement.
I am fascinated by Mt Everest and many other mountains towering above 8000 meters. The Death Zone is the altitude above 8,000 meters at which the body begins to die minute by minute and cell by cell due to a lack of oxygen. I have no desire to ever venture into that zone. I guess you have to be a pure mountain climber to understand why people take the risks they do to push their bodies to the absolute limit.
Still, I'll admit there is a powerful pull that mountains have on me. It's part of the reason why I moved to Colorado. Every trip I take into the mountains is one that replenishes me. The quiet and peace one finds being around the 13ers and 14ers is powerful. That's where I find the Life Zone.
