The colors in our region are past peak and it will be quite windy on Wednesday. There isn't much time left for autumn foliage shoots. A few from the local lake the last few days.

Tonight I arrived at a campground in Great Smoky Mountains NP with hardly any time left before sunset, and it was already dang dark from the heavy overcast and drizzle. After a mishap setting up my camp trailer I had no time left to shoot but scampered up the nearby east section of the Foothills Parkway anyway. I saw the low clouds moving in through the fall colors and pulled over to handhold a shot even though I could barely see. Well, this amazing A7RV comes through again, the EVF allowing me to compose in near darkness and the IBIS providing excellent sharpness at 1/15th with the ridiculously fantastic 70-200/2.8II. Compared to my DLSR days, this current gear is definitely allowing for shots I would have missed before. Grateful for great tools! And grateful to be out in the beauty of America.
