From the Contax Yashica 21/2.8. This is Reting Monastery (f. 1056 AD) in north-central Tibet, snuggled up below the Changtang high plain where the Mongols roamed for centuries. Tibetans revere 'power places' and this is one of the most highly-rated locations. In the dreamlike valley, it's an entire hillside covered in Junipers, the culture's holy tree. They struggle over 4500m, do better on south-facing ravines. It's possible to travel several thousand kms in Tibet without seeing even one tree.

There were around 2,000 Snow geese feeding in a field that I stopped to watch. Then a Bald eagle flew over then and the geese took to flight, circled, then settled back down

Freshly picked Christmas radish. My wife just picked this from our garden and it looks just like a Christmas ornament! And it was delicious.

The second batch of images from Bosque del Apache. I visited the refuge the first week in November, although I was a little early in the migration, there were still plenty of sandhill cranes, geese, and other wildlife to photograph.
