A scouting mission today - I have had an idea for a few years to capture winter Orion between the Grosser and Kleiner Mythen in Brunni, Switzerland. Today I found a few locations, checked PhotoPills as well as TPE 3d, and made a few test images.
Shot on the A7IV with the 20mm 1.8 G standing on a frost covered field near a ski slope.
Traditional framed image, but dusted off my stitching software and used AutoPanoGiga to stitch TIFFS out of Lr:
For the image I have in mind the night sky will be in proportion to this square image, to include Orion as it passes between the Mythen. My hope is to image the foreground during blue hour or moonrise, and capture the sky while using my tracker so I can stack the sky for noise and bring out detail. This was 3 horizontal frames stitched vertically in Lr.
Long time without posting any photograph. I've shot yesterday this heavily modified Harley Davidson 883 almost at nightfall. Not a fan of cloudy winter light because lighting conditions change so quickly at dusk that it forces to be continuously updating flash intensities.
You can view this photograph in more detail opening it in another browser window (mouse right button click > open image in new tab). The motorbike deserves it Lots of very expertised craftmanship which took a year to complete. The owner of this beauty is @more_and_less (at IG), a long time great friend of mine.

A first outing on Dartmoor for my new 16-35 PZ (farewell to the Sigma 14-24 which I loved but lost out on versatility) - it's just outside Princetown looking south towards Sharpitor and Leather Tor....some weather is about to hit....
